Not officially, but that's exactly what a Pentium is.  Intel changed to
a non-numerical name when they found out that they couldn't protect it.
That's also why Utilities Unlimited is calling it a 586...they're not
infringing on any Intel copyrights.

Were this to be a software only emulation solution, you'd be right.  But
aren't we forgetting what the Emplant actually is???  Check out the latest
ad showing an Intel proc benchmark running on the Emplant.  The speed is
pretty impressive.

It's faster than a 25mHz 486, though not quite as fast as the Pentium they
ran it against.  This makes sense when you consider that the Emplant is tied
to the host Amiga's CPU.  Do they make any Pentium's slower than ~66mHz?  I
don't think so.  The Emplant appears to be doing a kick-ass job.

Sure, but for $300 how can you go wrong with the Emplant.

If speed were the only criteria, the Amiga would have been dead long ago.
Though I'm going to be getting something to help out with renders, my primary
system is still going to be an Amiga because there just isn't another system
out there that's as enjoyable to use, where everything just gels, where you
can do whatever you want.  I'm typing this on an Indogo^2 Extreme at work and
it's still not near as comfortable an environment as my Amiga.  Nowhere near.

A better bet would be to skip the Pentium and get an Alpha.  Even a 166mHz
box would be more cost effective once you add a useable ammount of RAM I'd
bet.
